Japanese Byodo-in Temple. Built without the use of Nails. Whenever anyone comes to Oahu to visit me, I bring them here on the east side, to see this wonderful place called the valley of the Temples. There are also black swans and koi fish to photograph. Needless to say I love coming here.

This is the beginning of a hike at the end of Pupukea rd on the North shore of Oahu. It starts by the boy scouts camp. It goes for 5.5 miles and is pretty tough. On the way you go through fern forests and see lovely views of the ocean. I am not sure of the elevation but it was sure worth it. I will be posting more from this hike in the next few days. The Moon was setting while the sun was coming up. It was a good opportunity to practice some different settings for me. I liked the pink with the blue sky and the yellow of the moon.

I went for a hike on the kealia trail on the North shore by the Dillingham Air field. It was pretty much up the side of this mountain. 19 switchbacks and 1600 feet later I came upon this view. I think it was worth it. This is looking towards Haleiwa from the end of the road near Kaena point.
